Tearful Christina Aguilera seeks solace in the arms of a friend as five-year marriage lies in tatters

It's been the week of celebrity break-ups.

First Laura Dern and Ben Harper, then David Arquette and Courteney Cox and now Christina Aguilera has reportedly split from her husband of nearly five years, Jordan Bratman.

The 29-year-old Grammy Award winner was seen in a tearful embrace with a good friend yesterday as the news broke that she has separated from her 33-year-old music executive husband.

Seeking solace: Christina Aguilera finds support in the arms of a friend as the world learns that she and her husband Jordan Bratman have separated

With her blonde, unruly curls covered by a brown cap, Christina was looking decidedly dressed down in sweat pants and a hooded cardigan as she emerged from a large white SUV and fell into the arms of a friend.

Her heart-to-heart came as she released a statement, confirming she was separated from her husband.

Aguilera told People magazine: 'Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever.'

The news of the break-up - which apparently took place during the summer - was first reported by Us Weekly on Tuesday.

'They have been separated for a few months,' a source close to Aguilera told the magazine.

The source went on to say that  the pair 'are now living apart and they will see how that goes,' but that they have not yet decided on whether they will divorce.

Hugs all round: Christina keeps her face turned away from the paparazzi during the embrace

They were very much in love,' explains the insider. 'But over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife.'

Aguilera once gushed about her husband: 'I start to cry when I think of all he has brought to my life. As a team, we make each other stronger, wiser... just better.'

The couple met in 2002 when Bratman was working at Azoff Music Management, which is Aguilera's management company.

Her manager Irving Azoff introduced the two to one another.

People magazine reported on Bratman's romantic proposal to Aguilera: 'On February 11, 2005, the couple were in a Carmel, California hotel room filled with rose petals, balloons, and gift boxes.

Glum: A stony-faced Jordan Bratman was spotted leaving a meeting in Los Angeles yesterday

'Each box had a poem written by Jordan. When Christina opened the last box which had a ring in it, Jordan got down on one knee and said, "Will you do me the honour of being my wife?"'

Aguilera and Bratman had a sunset wedding in a tent near a forest on November 19, 2005 at Staglin Family Vineyard in northern California's Napa Valley.

The ceremony with about 130 guests was described as being lavish.

The wedding dress that Aguilera wore was designed by Christian Lacroix. She wore her hair pulled back in a bun and decorated in jewels and white flowers. The couple's wedding bands were designed by Stephen Webster of London.

Last hug goodbye: The estranged couple were photographed sharing an embrace on August 9 - around the time they were believed to have split

The couple's marital problems may explain Christina's recent weight gain. Normally trim and toned, the What A Girl Wants singer appeared at a Hollywood party two weeks ago with a decidedly fuller figure.

A source told Mail Online at the time: 'It's bizarre Christina has put on so much weight as she's been doing lots of dancing and high energy work for [her upcoming movie], Burlesque.

'The whole movie is choreography and she was very active so I'm surprised she's piled on the pounds so quickly'.

Christina has also been spotted out for some time now without her wedding ring.

However the pair are reportedly trying their hardest to remain on friendly terms for the sake of their two-year-old son, Max.

'Christina is doing her best to be a great mum,' says the insider. 'She has a lot to juggle, but she’s learning how to make it work and balance it all.'

Tense: It certainly didn't look like a case of happy families as Aguilera and Bratman strolled around New York in May with little Max

Christina is still keeping busy, though. She is currently working on the  soundtrack for Burlesque, which opens in November.

In the film, Christina plays a small-town girl who ventures to LA and finds her place in a neo-burlesque club run by a former dancer - played by Cher.

Hopefully the movie will be successful as 2010 does not appear to have been a good year for Christina so far.

Along with her separation from Jordan, the singer released her fourth studio album Bionic earlier this year, but the record failed to impress and wasn't a hit with critics.

She also cancelled plans for a summer tour earlier this year which was rumoured to be because of poor ticket sales.

5 Things to Know About Christina Aguilera's Husband-to-Be, Matt Rutler

Christina Aguilera, 33, revealed to the world on Twitter that she and boyfriend of three years, Matthew Rutler, are engaged. The news came on Feb. 14, making for a better Valentine's Day for Aguilera than the one she had in 2011, which marked the official ending of her marriage to Jordan Bratman. Read on to learn a bit more about Aguilera's new fiancé, Matt Rutler.

He Works in the Movie Industry
While the future "Mr. Aguilera" isn't an actor, he does work on film sets. He's worked as a production assistant on many popular films, including "The Proposal," "Grown Ups," "The Social Network" and "Burlesque." The latter is where Rutler met the powerhouse singer and when they began to get close.

He Knows How to Propose
Forget the nice restaurant or a room filled with a few friends, because a gorgeous beach is definitely the best backdrop for a wedding proposal. Clearly, Rutler knew that, as a stunning beach view can be seen in background of Aguilera's Twitter picture of her engagement ring. The beach is a bit hard to see, though, because it's hard to look away from the singer's large diamond ring. Well done, Rutler!

He Plays the Guitar
Aguilera isn't the only person in the relationship that is involved in the music industry. Rutler played guitar for The Nate Mott Band, releasing a couple of music videos with the band before parting ways. The other members have created a new band, while Rutler is busy spending time with his new fianceé.

He Grew Up in New Jersey
Rutler now works and lives in California, but he's originally from the Garden State. The New Jersey native went to Ramapo High School before moving to Rhode Island to attend Roger Williams University. After graduating, he made the move to California to enter into the entertainment industry.

He Is Very Dedicated to His Mother
No matter what he accomplishes in life or who he is dating, Rutler always makes time to talk with his mom and to spend time with her. Back in December 2012, he took his mother to the set of "The Voice," so he could spend quality time with both of the women in his life -– his mom and Aguilera.

Christina Aguilera Says She Left Her Husband To Save Son Max From Seeing Their Fights

“Things were so unhappy and unhealthy,” says Christina of the hell her home life had become.

Christina Aguilera has finally revealed the reason behind her sudden split from husband Jordan Bratman, telling People magazine she had to extract herself from the increasingly unhealthy relationship to save her 2-year-old son, Max, from needless suffering. “I knew I had to end it,” she says. “It wasn’t good for Max to witness our arguments.”

In the candid new interview, Christina provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her deeply unhappy household. While out in public, the couple seemed like a Hollywood dream come true, but at home the couple’s relationship had turned into a nightmare. “We were great for the first year after Max was born,” she reveals. “Then things turned.”

It took getting away from Jordan and going on location to film Burlesque to open Christina’s eyes to just how bad things had become in her family life. When she returned, she realized that her taste of independence had shown her that “things didn’t feel right in my own home,” she says now. “We just weren’t right for each other. I couldn’t face living another five years being unhappy.”

As a child of divorce herself, Christina knew what she would have to make the same painful decision her own mother had been forced to make in order to provide a happier home for her young son. “It’s not good for kids to grow up with constant arguments,” she says. “Children can feel when things aren’t right… I knew that Max would benefit from us separating.”

She admits that there are lasting emotional scars from her own parents’ divorce that she is hoping to have saved her son from experiencing: “There’s guilt. There’s shame.” And in the end she hopes to have made the best decision for Max’s emotional well-being. “I strongly believe it’s better to have two homes filled with love than one home filled with tension,” she says.

In the weeks since she left Jordan, Christina has been spotted out in New York City and Los Angeles with Matthew Rutler, a production assistant she met on the set of Burlesque. And how is little Max faring since the split? “We say, ‘Tomorrow is Daddy’s day’ or ‘Tomorrow is Mommy’s day.’ I squeeze him a little harder, give more kisses.” But possibly most telling is Christina’s response when asked about her own state of mind since she split with Jordan: “I keep my tears away from my son.”

Why Did Christina Aguilera & Jordan Bratman Divorce? The Answer Is Pretty Relatable

At this stage of the Hollywood game, the world is well-versed in certain celebrity tropes. A mainstay being that celebrity relationships tend (and by "tend" I mean pretty much always) have a short shelf life. Aside from that glaringly obvious fact, there are some couples and certain relationships that we believe are going to defy the odds despite every other factor pointing to the fact that they're not going to. One of those particular relationships was that between the incomparable songstress, Christina Aguilera, and her ex-husband, Jordan Bratman. But alas, they too succumbed to divorce. So why did Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman split up? The answer is pretty relatable.

It's not that I assumed Xtina was immune to Hollywood's pitfalls, but to her credit she's done things a lot differently than most of her young and impressionable celebrity peers. First, Bratman himself is not exactly a celebrity. Incredibly successful, yes, but paparazzi golden boy, no. So right there it seemed a bit more practical that the two may actually work. In addition to that, the couple dated for four years before Aguilera went where few celebrities dare to go anymore — down the aisle. She and Bratman were married for five years and had one son, Max Liron, before deciding to call it quits.

In an unprecedented and remarkably personal interview with People back in late 2010, The Voice judge candidly expressed why she decided to divorce her husband.

I've grown as a woman and he's grown as a person. We were both looking for different things. We just weren't right for each other. I couldn't face living another five years together and feeling that I wasted that time being unhappy.

Throughout the interview Aguilera was always respectful and complimentary of her then-estranged husband, but cited the fact that people change and dynamics shift in relationships and it just wasn't something she and Bratman could overcome even though she lamented that they did try.

Ironically, in that same interview, Aguilera briefly talks about her current fiancé, Matt Rutler, with whom she just welcomed a daughter, Summer Rain. When prompted she divulged on her new but special relationship with Rutler, a set assistant on her movie Burlesque,

Matthew is a special person. We had a really strong friendship on the movie. He's the kind of person you could spend hours on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it's daylight. Once I filed for divorce, we started dating. I'm not trying to jump into anything. I just left a five-year marriage. I'm taking it slow and trying to be happy.

Looks like Aguilera did the right thing because it appears that she and Rutler are over the moon with their expanding family.

Christina Aguilera’s Ex-Husband Jordan Bratman Moves Out His Stuff — 2 Years Later!

It seems like Christina Aguilera’s ex-husband, Jordan Bratman, took his “'til death do us part” vows very seriously. The couple divorced in 2010, but yesterday paparazzi snapped some photos of Jordan gathering his belongings from Xtina’s home in Beverly Hills.

According to The Daily Mail, Jordan originally refused to move out following the divorce in October 2010, and Christina had to move into a hotel temporarily. But in January 2011, Jordan finally moved, leaving plenty of his belongings behind.

Now Christina is selling the couple’s former home and Jordy’s got to put everything he owns in a box to the left. Christina had been living in the home with current boyfriend Matthew Rutler, but the couple is currently staying in a hotel during the moving process.

Xtina rarely shares the intimate details of her life, but from the photos, it looks like a stressful time for our favorite pop diva. Hopefully it’ll get resolved soon.

Christina Aguilera Flaunts Skinny Bod During Outing with Ex-Husband Jordan Bratman, Son Max

Xtina's body just keeps getting better! Christina Aguilera once again showed off her skinnier frame during a casual family outing in Venice Beach, Calif. on Sunday Aug. 11 -- and her ex-husband was on hand to notice the singer's latest transformation. Not yet donning a bikini, the Grammy winner still offered a glimpse of her shrinking frame in a white tank top, tight ripped jeans and flip-flops and she and music producer Jordan Bratman had a fun day out with Max, their adorable 5-year-old son.

More grown up than ever, Max looked like a perfect mashup of his parents with dirty blonde hair and pouty lips. Photos from the day out show no tension between Aguilera and Bratman, 36, who finalized their divorce in 2011 after six years of marriage. Aguilera has moved with boyfriend Matthew Rutler, who she's been dating for nearly three years.

As for her talked-about new figure, the 5-foot-2 "Feel This Moment" singer "has been on a mission to lose weight," a source recently told Us Weekly. Already shedding 20 pounds, the star is "making better choices" with her diet and has "adopted a new lifestyle" in terms of daily fitness routines, the source adds -- logging in regular yoga and strength training, yoga, and hiking.

Raved her Voice cohort Carson Daly to Us recently: "She's in crazy good shape!"

The Burlesque Star Opens Up About Her Painful Decision to Break Up the Family Life She Had with Her Husband, Jordan Bratman, and Their Son Max-And Why She Still Believes in Love

Looking at photos of herself from August, halfheartedly sipping champagne with Jordan Bratman on a yacht along the Italian coast, Christina Aguilera has the same reaction the rest of the world did. "You could definitely tell we were unhappy," she says. In fact, the pop star's nearly five-year marriage had been in rough waters for months before then. Problems surfaced when Aguilera-whose own parents divorced when she was 7-returned from filming the musical Burlesque in March. "When I got back into my normal life, it didn't feel quite right," she says, adding that the couple, who wed in an estimated $2 million bash in California's Napa Valley, tried to make it work for their son Max, 2. Now the Grammy winner, who turns 30 Dec. 18, is opening up about the year of heartache that led to her agonizing choice to file for divorce and break up her family. "When you're unhappy in a marriage, your children are the ones who suffer," she says. "That's the last thing I wanted for my son."

How were you feeling on Oct. 14, the day you filed for divorce?

Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it. It wasn't good for us, and it wasn't good for Max to witness our arguments. Children can feel when things aren't right in the home. I had bouts of extreme anxiety. I really didn't want to hurt Jordan, and I felt torn about splitting our family up.

You met Jordan at 21 and married him at 24.

At the time, it felt absolutely right. Jordan and I were best friends first, and then it grew to be more. He represented stability and love and safety-qualities I never got from a male figure growing up. I felt we could share the rest of our lives together. I wanted to marry someone who would be a good father. And he is.

When did things go wrong?

We were great the first year after Max was born. Jordan was amazing. He was the first to change Max's diaper. Then things turned. I was nurturing Max and felt independent in that relationship. Then I went right into filming Burlesque [in fall 2009]. As a musician, you're with your posse all the time, and during the movie I removed myself from mine. So I had an independence I'd never felt before. I was growing leaps and bounds daily. I went from being a girl to a woman.

When I finished filming, I didn't feel right in my own shoes [at home]. I had a lot of things stirring inside of me that I felt were being suppressed. We tried to work on the marriage and figure out a common ground. But the problems were obvious.

Like what?

There were moments of disconnect. Jordan was always a supportive person, but "supportive" can take on different meanings. He represented safety for me years ago. But our relationship changed. I've grown as a woman and he's grown as a person. We were both looking for different things. We just weren't right for each other. I couldn't face living another five years [together] and feeling that I wasted [that time] being unhappy.

Did you try to save your marriage for Max's sake?

Absolutely. We went through a period of trying to reconnect and spend more family time together. We took that trip to Italy together. But at the same time, I knew Max would benefit from us separating. He'd be happier to see both his parents happy.

Your parents divorced when you were 7. Did that affect your decision?

I come from a home filled with a lot of tension. My parents were not right to stay together [as long as they did]. It's not good for kids to grow up with [constant] arguments. I knew what I was doing was the right thing for my child because I strongly believe it's better to have two homes filled with love than one filled with tension. That's one thing I learned as a child.

What was it like growing up in that environment?

My mom tried for years to stay in a marriage that she was not happy in. I would watch her torture herself emotionally. By staying in a marriage that's not right, you're making your children take on such responsibility. There's guilt. There's shame. I was happy with my mom's decision to get divorced. I was an old soul in that way. I felt more loved and secure once they were separated. When things didn't feel right in my own home and it wasn't the happiest place for Max to grow up in, it was time to move on.

Have you and Jordan been able to remain friends?

For Max's sake, we keep in communication and try to be as civil as possible, but there's some pain. There's discomfort when we're together. But I know in my heart we'll find some sort of ground where we'll eventually laugh together again and be okay for Max.

How emotional has the split been?

I definitely cry. I've mourned. I don't think I'd be human if I didn't have moments of sadness about the way things turned out. You look at pictures of happier times and it's hard. The visions I had of my family life won't be that way. But I can try to treasure those memories and create other memories and dreams for myself.

I've had a strong support system around me. I realized that for a long time during my marriage, I was alienating myself from a lot of my close friends. I rediscovered that during this period in my life.

Has Max seen you cry?

I keep my tears away from my son. I don't want him to feel anything I'm going through.

What do you do to help him cope?

It's hard to explain to a 2-year-old what exactly is happening. We didn't want to make a big issue out of it. It didn't need to be. We say, "Tomorrow is Daddy's day," or "Tomorrow is Mommy's day." He's adapting really well. I try to make him feel as loved and adored as he is. Every chance I get, I squeeze him a little harder, give him more kisses and try to make him feel as special as he really is to me. He's a happy, happy boy. He's a really funny guy. I want to be the first person he sees when he wakes up and the last before he goes to sleep. I still have his baby monitor. My heart just melts whenever I watch him sleep.

What do you love to do together?

We go to the zoo. And he loves pretending to make Mommy's coffee. It's very cute! So for Christmas I'm getting him this children's coffeemaker.

You've been out in Los Angeles and New York City with a new man, Matthew Rutler, a set assistant on Burlesque. How does it feel to be dating again?

Matthew is a special person. We had a really strong friendship on the movie. He's the kind of person you could spend hours on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it's daylight. Once I filed for divorce, we started dating. I'm not trying to jump into anything. I just left a five-year marriage. I'm taking it slow and trying to be happy.

Are you in love?

There's a love there, yes. I'm having fun, I'm dating and it's something I haven't had in a really long time.

Do you still believe in love and marriage?

Wholeheartedly. I know one day I'll be able to feel that again for someone. That idea will never die.

“Jordan Bratman dead 2016” : Christina Aguilera's ex-husband killed by internet death hoax

News of producer Jordan Bratman’s death spread quickly earlier this week causing concern among fans across the world. However the September 2016 report has now been confirmed as a complete hoax and just the latest in a string of fake celebrity death reports. Thankfully, the Christina Aguilera's ex-husband is alive and well.

Jordan Bratman death hoax spreads on Facebook

Rumors of the producer’s alleged demise gained traction on Sunday after a ‘R.I.P. Jordan Bratman’ Facebook page attracted nearly one million of ‘likes’. Those who read the ‘About’ page were given a believable account of the American producer’s passing:

“At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday (September 11, 2016), our beloved producer Jordan Bratman passed away. Jordan Bratman was born on June 4, 1977 in New York. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
Hundreds of fans immediately started writing their messages of condolence on the Facebook page, expressing their sadness that the talented 39-year-old producer was dead. And as usual, Twittersphere was frenzied over the death hoax.

Where as some trusting fans believed the post, others were immediately skeptical of the report, perhaps learning their lesson from the huge amount of fake death reports emerging about celebrities over recent months. Some pointed out that the news had not been carried on any major American network, indicating that it was a fake report, as the death of a producer of Jordan Bratman's stature would be major news across networks.

A recent poll conducted for the Celebrity Post shows that a large majority (79%) of respondents think those Jordan Bratman death rumors are not funny anymore.

Jordan Bratman Death Hoax Dismissed Since Producer Is ‘Alive And Well’

On Monday (September 12) the producer's reps officially confirmed that Jordan Bratman is not dead. “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.

Some fans have expressed anger at the fake report saying it was reckless, distressing and hurtful to fans of the much loved producer. Others say this shows his extreme popularity across the globe.

Christina Aguilera Kids: 'The Voice' Coach Leaves Show, Husband, Wedding Update

Christina Aguilera is more than a singer and coach of The Voice. She's also a mother of two and soon-to-be-wife.

Currently, Aguilera is mom to an 8-year-old son, Max, and 1-year-old daughter, Summer Rain, and engaged to producer Matthew Rutler. However, while she and Rutler will eventually tie the knot, the couple has no immediate plans to do so. Instead, she's focused on her career and recently posed for the cover of Women's Health.

“I really enjoy doing those Women's Health covers," Aguilera told Extra TV weeks ago. "We just put so much pressure on ourselves as women to look a certain way and be a certain way… Yoga is one of the things that I found to really help me, but I also wanted to speak on behalf of every woman that's, you know, we're expected to be you know have babies, be the nurturers, the caretakers, you know, take care of our husbands and then whenever we have the babies after being pregnant for nine months, it's like then we have to put ourselves on a hold to breastfeed. It's awesome, I love my kids, Kudos to any mom who's taking this journey on, they're the best things in the world, but women, I think have to pamper themselves too and be good for them.”

As Aguilera juggles her career duties, including her role on The Voice, her upcoming Spike series, Tracks, and her new album, she's also enjoying time with her son, although Max is no fan of her current project.

“[Max] barely knows what 'The Voice' is. If I worked on 'American Ninja Warriors,' then my son would be interested but 'The Voice'… not his thing,” she explained.

Luckily, Summer is more on board with the show.

“She's a people person, so she comes on set and she's just like, just her big blue eyes just kill everybody, so she loves people," Aguilera said.

As for what she hopes her children will be when they grown up, she added, “I want to support anything my kids want to do, whether it’s singing or music or a garbage truck driver.”

Christina Aguilera Husband: 'The Voice' Coach Faces Lesbian Rumors

Is Christina Aguilera a lesbian?

Although The Voice coach is currently engaged to be married to producer Matt Rutler, a new report claims she may also be interested in women, including one of the contestants of the currently airing 10th season of The Voice.

"Aguilera kissed another female contestant on the lips and the grapevine started churning the gossips of the 'My Kind of Christmas'' famed singer Aguilera being a lesbian," Kpop Starz reported last month, claiming it was Kata Hay who struck Aguilera's interest.

According to the report, Aguilera began facing rumors regarding her possible lesbianism in 2010 when she split from Jordan Bratman, the father of her oldest child, son Max. At the time, it was claimed that the couple had an open marriage, which allowed Aguilera to sleep with women. Also at that time, Aguilera was linked to DJ Samantha Ronson, who infamously dated Lindsay Lohan on and off for years.

"The rumors of Aguilera being a lesbian surfaced again when lesbian contestant Kata Hay kissed coach Christina Aguilera. So are they dating? Even though she has children, it is possible that the singer wants the best of both the worlds and wants to keep her options open," Kpop Starz continued.

For the last few years, Aguilera has been involved in a relationship with Rutler, and in February 2014, they became engaged. However, at this point, over two years after their engagement, the couple has not yet wed and has no plans to do so as of earlier this year.

"We discuss it when we’re snuggling in bed," Aguilera told Women's Health magazine in February, "but it’s a casual conversation."

Also during the interview, Aguilera opened up about the long list of responsibilities women are dealt.

"Mothers are constantly expected to be the nurturers, the givers, the providers of a comfortable home. We’re expected to be pregnant, have the kids, breastfeed once we have the babies. And we’re expected to look amazing after baby, right? Keep our husbands and boyfriends interested — because we’re supposed to get back to sexy and keep things exciting in the bedroom. There’s such a long list," she said.

christina-aguilera-grows-close-to-blake-shelton-during-the-voice-season-10-is-gwen-stefani-worried

Christina Aguilera has returned to The Voice, and already, the party has gotten started in a major way. According to a new report, Christina Aguilera has picked up where she left off with Blake Shelton, and just a short while into production, the two are said to be “drinking” partners.

Although Christina Aguilera is currently engaged to be married to Matthew Rutler, and Shelton is in a relationship with Gwen Stefani, who has appeared on the show as a coach for two seasons, Christina Aguilera and Shelton are said to be great friends, and seem to thoroughly enjoy working with one another.

“Blake’s drinking partner on The Voice set has returned in [Christina Aguilera] and they are creating a real festive atmosphere on set,” a source revealed to Hollywood Life on March 1. “Blake loves having [Christina Aguilera] around, they have good chemistry together on and off camera.”

Meanwhile, claimed the source, “Gwen is sweet and bubbly but not a partier like that.”

That said, Stefani’s failure to be a partier has not dampened her relationship with Shelton, nor has his closeness to Christina Aguilera caused them any issues. As the site revealed, Christina Aguilera has always been a partier, but it’s in “good fun,” and should in no way be taken as a threat to Shelton’s relationship with Stefani.

As for Christina Aguilera’s own relationship, she and Rutler have been engaged since 2014, but have no immediate plans to wed. In a new interview, Christina Aguilera opened up about her desire to plan her wedding at her own pace, and do so at a point in time were she’s often free.

“Having just moved into a beautiful new home we call ‘the Sanctuary,’ having a baby, and now being so excited to get back to work (on The Voice), I have my hands full, and am not in a rush to set a date,” Christina Aguilera explained to People Magazine last month. “I want to plan it and cherish the moment, while not feeling rushed.”

Christina Aguilera began dating Rutler in late 2010, and became engaged on February 14, 2014. Then, just months later, the couple welcomed their first child together, daughter Summer Rain, who arrived on August 16, 2014 (Christina Aguilera is also mom to 7-year-old Max from her previous relationship with ex-husband Jordan Bratman).

“Our love is secure enough that we don’t need a wedding to prove our love or commitment,” Christina Aguilera said. “We are enjoying our daughter, our family and our work for now.”

Also not getting married at this time is Christina Aguilera’s co-star, Shelton. While there have been continuous rumors about the couple’s possible engagement since they began dating in November of last year while filming The Voice Season 9, they have both shut down reports of a wedding, as well as rumors of a baby.

Christina Aguilera and her first husband, Bratman, tied the knot in November 2005, and parted ways in October 2010. Then, ironically, the former couple finalized their divorce on Valentine’s Day 2011, exactly three years prior to her and Rutler’s engagement.

For more of Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton, tune into The Voice Season 10, airing on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC. Gwen Stefani is set to return to the show later this year as a mentor for Team Shelton. A return date for Stefani has not yet been set.

Christina Aguilera has been putting together a new album while she’s been on hiatus from the show. On April 19, 2014, Aguilera tweeted: So blissful in taking this time for creating all things blossoming new on the horizon…album, baby & beautiful music to come.

There has been no word of a release date for her album yet as Aguilera explains:

I just have to make sure it’s right, and it’s genuine and it’s heartfelt, and I’m very excited to pour my heart out into this record fully. I’ve been gathering and writing and coming up with these amazing ideas for different parts of how I was feeling the past year, so I’m really excited to vocalize all of it and make it all come together.

3. Aguilera Hasn’t Watched the Show Much Since She’s Been Away

Christina Aguilera stated that she’s been on the show since day one and it’s become a well-oiled machine. She told The Hollywood Reporter:

By season eight, we are a well-oiled machine. Taking time away, I don’t really watch the show and study it [to see what changes]. But what [the time away] does do is let me step away and come back with a fresh perspective on things. I am excited to see what talent awaits this season.

In addition to re-joining The Voice, Aguilera is also appearing on the show Nashville, stating:

Move over Blake, you may not be able to play that ‘country card’ for long … I am excited to try something different, as I do think in life, and in music, experience just adds to the creative process. We haven’t started shooting, I actually leave for Nashville next week. But I can say my character is a successful pop singer who desperately wants to move into the country world, as that is her true passion. But she is caught between her passion and what the label wants her to do.

Besides acting and music, Aguilera is also currently producing television.

4. Last Season, Aguilera Mentored on The Voice

Aguilera has been gone from The Voice as a coach for two seasons, but last season, she returned to the show as a mentor on Team Gwen Stefani. Aguilera talked about the difference in her appearance as a mentor to The Hollywood Reporter, explaining:

Mentoring was great, no pressure. I showed up, saw a good friend, and watched and guided her team for the day, and left. I really loved it, as the pressure was not on me.

5. Aguilera Is Currently Working With Fellow Coach Pharrell Williams Away From The Show

During my pregnancy, I had a meeting with him and just connected on where I want to take the next album. And we started talking music, and he has one song in particular that I love.

Aguilera also sang Pharrell’s praises to The Hollywood Reporter, saying:

I have known Pharrell [for] a long time, but we never directly worked together before this, and I am really enjoying it. Pharrell has an amazing sense of calm; he is so fluid and smooth in his delivery, and he’s one the the most talented guys in the business. I am really happy he has joined The Voice family, and we are even working on a song together now.
